DELTA RESIDENTS CAUTIONED AGAINST USE OF CART PUSHERS AND INDISCRIMINATE DUMPING OF WASTE.

Delta State residents were recently cautioned against the use of cart pushers and indiscriminate dumping of waste across the state.

The Consultant to Delta State Waste Management Board on Waste Monitoring, Compliance And Enforcement, Chief Assay Anthony Omamuzo, working under the directive of the Chairman Delta State Waste Management Board, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, gave this directive as he and his team monitored residents compliance to the monthly environmental exercise that took place Saturday 27th January, 2024 across the state.

Visiting four local government Areas, Udu, Warri South, Uvwie and Ughelli South during the exercise, Chief Assay and his team who apprehended some cart pushers and those who engaged them, gave strict warning to those arrested that they would be prosecuted if caught another time and they should henceforth register with the appropriate registered Private Sectors Participants PSPs, so that their refuse can be dumped at government provided dump sites where the waste is centrally managed and detoxified.

" Today we are working with the directive of the Chairman of Delta State Waste Management Board, Hon Emmanuel Bazim Chinye. The code is" operation keep Delta State clean" as part of our roles to keep the state clean, we are out today being observed for the monthly environmental exercise to ensure that citizens after cleaning their environment, don't dump their waste indiscriminately.

" I want to urge all residents of the state and owners of business premises to ensure they register with approved PSPs for the dumping of their waste. Their compliance will enhance the growth and development of the state. A clean environment is a healthy environment and a healthy environment, enables a healthy generation which is key to state and nation building" Chief Assay said.

Chief Assay further said the operation he and his team carried out was clearly in line with the MORE AGENDA of the Governor Oborevwori's Administration.
